Staff were very accommodating .
We experienced significant noise from the street outside our room, hard to sleep. The dining experience was disappointing. The food was not up to par with what we expected.

Fantastic triple room, the service was helpful. Cozy beds, TV with satellite channels, central heating and a personal safe in the room. Marvellous and gorgeous location, only a short distance to Plaza Manco Capac.

The hotel was appealing and fairly clean, overlooked the garden. The venue had a delicious and amazing breakfast with good choice of items to choose from.

The complimentary Pisco sour and chocolates made us feel welcomed, while the beautiful river view from our room added a special touch to our stay.

Well located and good facilities
Poor service in general. People knocked the door frequently and decided to prepare the room at 6:30 pm before dinner. Food is ok, but for the hotel level is weak. The spa service combined with the front desk people are surely very weak, getting close to be a complete fiasco. For instance, the sauna was not heated at all and I complained. Answer was bizarre for a 5 star hotel: " If you are not satisfied with that, I will ask the owner to give a discount...." . Answer was rather simple, I want the temperature not a discount !!!!!!

The experience was very negative on all fronts from the time taken for us to check in, and I would say that the hotel is an incredible waste of money for a purported 5 star luxury hotel.
We spent a small eternity being told to wait whilst the single person on the front desk attended to people before us. Once she did arrive, she treated us with some amount of contempt. The entire hotel was in semi- darkness as the hotel staff were conserving energy and only had several areas lit by lighting. Our rooms were neat and well kept but the grout around the tiling in the bedroom area was discoloured and looked as if it hadn´t been cleaned properly. We rang the hotel staff repeatedly to inform them that the central heating wasn´t working, and the heating was switched on once for about 10 minutes and then was switched off during the night. The curtain rod from our window area fell down during use. Furthermore, our wake up call was incorrectly given by 45 minutes which was nerve wracking in making our way to the airport. The food served at the hotel as part of the price was average, and lacked flair. Overall, considering the astronomical price, and having stayed at other five-star hotels around the world, I am finding it hard to understand why this hotel has a five-star rating, and the price is definitely not commensurate with the level of service. I would definitely stay at a three star hotel in Machu Picchu and save the money for elsewhere.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The welcome tray was wonderful and beautifully prepared. The beds were exeptionally comfortable. The view from the balcony was outstanding. The location with the proximity to the market or bus terminal to Machu Picchu was good. The food selection and presentation for breakfast was very good.
The dinner meal was presented beautifully, but too much salt was used in preparation.

We loved everything about our stay. We renewed our wedding vows in a traditional Arac Masin ceremony and the hotel handled all the details perfectly - Alessandro and Veronica were fantastic. Our room was huge overlooking the river - the bed was super-comfy - food was fantastic. We would highly recommend this hotel!
Our only complaint was about the Machu Picchu guide that the hotel hired for us - Marco. Although he did tell us many interesting facts about the ruins and he knew where to get good photos, we didn't see or get told about several key parts of the ruins. Many times he seemed more interested in chatting with his friends or people watching than in giving us the tour.

Perfect choice for families
Our room had a fine view of the river which was calming after a day of hiking. The staff here were pretty good when they prepared a special kids menu just for our little ones, they actually cared. That kind of service you can't buy.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but honestly worth it for the quality we got.

The staff were great, especially the friendly porter and the lovely lady at the spa.
My wife says that the hotel can improve by providing better late check-out options for families.

Travelling in Peru with my husband, I needed to spend 2 nights at Aguas Callientes to wait for his return from treking the Inca trail. The Sumaq Hotel lived up to my expectations and I was very happy to have experienced the ambience of this hotel.

Friendly staff; and dinner was included in the price. Dinner at the hotel makes it convenient for hotel guests to relax after their day at Machu Picchu and talk with other guests.

The staff at the motel are excellent, especially in the resztrraunt, but througjhout the motel. As someone with a long experience of travelling, I would recommend your motel to friends & colleaguses without hesitation. Congratulations.
Everything went from fine to excellent, nothing below fine.

The hospitality here is unmatched, with an attentive staff that helped us navigate ticket purchases for the local attractions. The homemade soups in the restaurant were a standout, showcasing authentic flavors. While the location is perfect, I found the common areas could benefit from more seating options for relaxation. The wait for service at the bar on our last day was longer than expected, slightly detracting from an otherwise wonderful experience.
